The First Impossibility

As I was searching through the endless vortex we call social media i came across a very interesting video by a gentleman. He said that you have a 1 in 400 trillion chance of being born, or existing as the individual that you are today.

And I found so much solace in that.

After I heard it, I started running numbers in my head instantly. I had to, that number was more unfathomable chance wise than any other number I had ever heard and... according to my calculations.....

You are 12.5 trillion times more likely to become a millionaire than you are to be born....

You are 1.7 million times more likely to become a billionaire than you are to be born in the first place....

And for artists like me, you are 4 million times more likely to make it as an artist than you are to even exist at all....

That thought stayed with me.

Because it means that the most impossible thing I will ever do has already happened.

Before I ever made a painting, before I ever built a world, before I ever tried to become anything, I had already done the least likely thing I could ever do.

I was born....and I had forgotten the scale of the miracle I already came from.

I literally can’t dream big enough to create something in this world that's less likely than the first thing I ever did.... live
